Make a complaint about a Certification Authority

When making a complaint you agree:

You have read the information required and it meets the threshold

If you believe a certification authority has or is failing in how it is carrying out its core functions, you can make a complaint with us. To make a complaint, you must be able to:
• identify the core function or functions you consider the certification authority has failed or is failing to carry out (or been negligent or improper in carrying out)
• state how the certification authority has failed or is failing to carry it out (or been negligent or improper in carrying out)
• provide evidence that shows that the certification authority has failed or is failing to carry it out (or been negligent or improper in carrying it out).

Without specific and detailed evidence showing how a vehicle fails to meet the self-containment requirements, the Board cannot consider a complaint.

To be named as the complainant

If you wish to make a complaint you need to be prepared to be identified as the complainant in correspondence with the certification authority about your complaint (we do not accept anonymous complaints).

To sign a statement outlining your complaint

By signing the statement, you must be willing to be involved in an investigation of the Board decides to investigate your complaint (which may take a number of months).
