CPD
CPD is a requirement when renewing your licence each year
You must complete CPD before renewing your licence.
To renew your licence in 2024, you must have either:
- Attended one of our roadshows that ran between April and August 2023; or
- Completed the online CPD course (available through your Trade Login).
If you still need to the 2022 CPD course, you will need to contact the Board at cpd@pgdb.co.nz to get a copy of the 2022 CPD handbook and a questionnaire.
What is CPD?
Continuing professional development (CPD) is the means by which registered people (i.e. Journeyman, Tradesman and Certifying) maintain their knowledge and skills related to their trade.
By maintaining and improving the competence of registered tradespeople, CPD is a valuable tool that assists the Board with their commitment to protect the health and safety of the public.
Do I have to do CPD?
If you are a registered person (i.e. Journeyman, Tradesman or Certifying), completing CPD is a mandatory condition to relicense each year.
It is likely that a new licence will not be issued to you if you have not completed your annual CPD training.
