Plumbers, Gasfitters
and Drainlayers Board
Building Consent Authority
Building Consent Authorities (BCAs) play an important role in the plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying industry by checking buildings are safe for New Zealanders to live in.
Consent issues
The Board can only look into consent matters when they form part of a broader issue. Consent issues on their own are for the BCA to address, but if they are linked to wider concerns about a practitioner’s competence or compliance, then they may be included in our investigation.
