Continuing Professional Development (CPD)


Continuing professional development (CPD) is the means by which registered people (i.e. Journeyman, Tradesman and Certifying) maintain their knowledge and skills related to their trade. The Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board is committed to CPD as a valuable tool to assist in maintaining and improving the competence of registered tradespeople, and, as a consequence, to protect the health and safety of members of the public.


2018 CPD session relevant for renewals for THIS YEAR'S RELICENSING

(1 April 2019 - 31 March 2020 licensing year)

To renew licences in the journeyman, tradesman and certifying classes for any of the trades for the 2019-2020 licensing year, tradespeople would need to have attended the CPD training session part of the 2018 PGDB & Mico Training Roadshow or have completed this training online.

The roadshow sessions happened during 2018. This can now only be completed online. Note enrolment processing can take up to 5 working days.

The following topics are covered within this training: Working at heights, confined space and fire protection. Innovation in the sector. Insurance considerations. Consumer complaint handling and dispute resolution. Common mistakes and concerns relating to backflow, pipesizing and vaporisation.

2019 CPD session relevant for renewals for NEXT YEAR'S RELICENSING

(1 April 2020 - 31 March 2021 licensing year)

To renew licences in the journeyman, tradesman and certifying classes for any of the trades on 1 April 2020, tradespeople would need to have attended the CPD training session part of the 2019 PGDB & Mico Training Roadshow or have completed this training online.
