As of 1 November 2010 the certifying gasfitter must file all gas certificates online. A signed gas certificate must still be provided to the consumer. As of 4 May 2010 you no longer need to supply a copy to the Energy Supplier.

Please note the following excerpts from the Gas (Safety and Measurement) Regulations 2010:

Regulation 46
(1)    Certification of gasfitting must be completed within 10 working days of the completion of the work

Regulation 48
(1)(d)    A copy of the completed certificate of compliance is supplied, within
5 working days of the certification of the gasfitting, to the person for whom the gasfitting was carried out.

Copies of the Gas (Safety and Measurement) Regulations 2010 and the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006 are freely available online.
Orders of multiple books of gas certificates made prior to 1 October 2010 will only be approved at the Registrar’s discretion.

Please note any gas certificates purchased prior to 1 October 2010, will be accepted by the Board until 31 October 2010. Consumer copies from these certificates are also valid until 31 October 2010. Any remaining certificates can be returned to the Board for a full refund until 1 April 2011.
